Description
Inspired by the Tea Party chapter in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll. Alice Liddell was the daughter of the Dean of Christchurch, Oxford. She first heard the story on a boat trip with her sisters in July 1862. Oxford celebrates this day as Alice’s Day in July every year. Vintage silver teapot gnomon aligned on April 15th 2022 to Oxford Solar Noon. Latitude 51.7º North.

About Sue Eves
Sue Eves’ paintings focus on epiphanies gleaned from nature, folk stories and fairytales, as you might expect from an artist who is also a storyteller and children’s book illustrator. Sue makes paintings on discarded windows using the glass panes as a canvas and storyboard. Her window art began back in Covid days, when she was furloughed from The Story Museum, Oxford. People passing by on their walks stopped to view her window paintings, painted in gouache - not a waterproof or condensation proof medium. So she started with a clean (single-glazed) window each day.
