Weather Front

About the artist

The reflective nature of my artworks is autobiographical. I depict lived life, transcending hyperrealism by simplifying the form with light modulation. My artistic process is not experimental research for new artistic mediums but rather a refinement of my medium of choice, oil. I interpret my art as a daily exercise stimulated by the oil’s flexibility. As an extension of life, art should be truthful and honest. I, as an artist, am a storyteller; my novels are written in painting form—a little window into my life experiences. I paint to remember, to fix a sensation I want to share with you. Weather Front

Description of artwork

The early morning walk near Weston Turville was a magical experience that inspired this little painting. The foggy weather front had been replaced by a beautiful, clear blue sky, and this reworked painting now had the perfect contrast between the lower-key values at the bottom and the vibrant sky above. I was so pleased with the result!
