Spectrum Studio Oil Colours 225ml
Cranfield Spectrum Oil colour is a traditional linseed base Oil paint, the only exception to this, is that the Whites use a Safflour oil as its base. The range is a “studio,” quality oil colour that has been in production since the early 70’s. Spectrum oils offer exceptional value for money and are available in both 60 and 225ml tubes. Ideal for students, and amateur painters they are also popular with professional artists seeking an inexpensive oil colour for large works and underpainting. The range consists of a good traditional palette of colours with good durability and lightfastness throughout. The materials used in the manufacturing, are all sourced from UK suppliers. Cranfield Spectrum also manufacture a range of support mediums to complement their paints, such as Spectragel and Alkaflow, which can be used with most other oil paint ranges. For underpainting, there is also a quick drying Titanium white option available. The range does carry some genuine Cadmium colours and precautions should be taken when using these paints.

Ever since I was a toddler and could hold a crayon or brush, I've been painting and drawing aided by family that have been involved in the production of paint for artists. I've a passion for drawing and painting in a variety of media, especially oil painting and drawing. I also enjoy using coloured pencils, watercolour inks and gouache.
When not in store I can be found teaching privately, I'm especially fond of life drawing and believe with encouragement that anyone can draw and paint. I can often be found wondering the countryside with my camera and sketchbook, I'm drawn to wild places, lakes and woods.
I've used most of the products we sell, so please feel free to ask me about anything.
