Based on the old DIN 201 standard, this set contains nine Horadam colours that were once used by architects, technical draughtsmen and cadastral surveyors to produce their technical drawings. An interesting fact: each colour represents a specific construction material and its use (e.g. orange for bronze and wood, purple for cast steel, dark green for light metals or wire coils, and grey for concrete and quarry stone masonry).
Anyone who uses these colours for artistic purposes rather than technical ones will immediately notice that all of the selected watercolours are not only very harmonious and versatile when used on their own, but also produce a wide range of other brilliant shades when mixed together. Thus, in addition to its special retro style, this historic box also provides the perfect basis for all applications in modern watercolour painting.
This set includes:
Aureolin Hue (208)
Chromium Orange Hue (214)
Vermillion (365)
Schmincke Violet (476)
Ultramarine Finest (494)
Chromium Oxide Green Brilliant (511)
Olive Green Yellowish (525)
Raw Umber (667)
Payne's Grey Bluish (787)
- Metal box in retro style with historical owl print (inside and outside) - Unique Schmincke pan holder - Contains 9 HORADAM colours in full pans, poured 4 times in liquid state - Complemented with a letter from the management at the time and retro watercolour chart
“Brilliant shop! Wonderful, prompt and attentive service and an excellent array of products (particularly given the size of the space). I usually order online and collect in store (another excellent service) to save the risk of parking my bike outside but always enjoy a wander when I’m in town. Highly recommended!”

“I ordered 3 pads of watercolour paper and when it arrived I was amazed at the way it was packed. Bubble wrap, cardboard wrap then brown paper. As a result the paper arrived in perfect condition. Well done.”
– Graham
“So nice to have a shop not in a mall or a big impersonal space with knowledgeable helpful staff-full of all the art/craft supplies one could possibly want.”
– Halima
“I’ve only found this wonderful shop recently. I have been coming into this shop regularly since as I’m doing a few craft projects at the moment. The staff are absolutely lovely and have helped me anytime I needed assistance — even with recommendations!”
– Chantelle
“The staff were very helpful and patient and helped me get everything I needed to start traditional inking/inkwash art, which is not that common (but they had the supplies regardless). Coming from a digital background, I had very little idea about what I needed but they were very patient and kind in helping me pick out each piece of equipment.”
