Golden White Gesso Primer

Gesso primer can be thought of as the bridge between your support (canvas, board or whatever you paint on) and the paint.

GOLDEN White Gesso is a flexible liquid ground that seals, protects, and gives "tooth" to substrates, which provides a surface to which paint can adhere. It is formulated to accept a wide variety of media on many commonly used painting surfaces. It comes ready-to-use, but can be mixed with water for thinner applications. When applied in thin layers, GOLDEN White Gesso will conform to a variety of textured surfaces without cracking.

White Gesso primer is a ready-to-use formulation for painting on most surfaces. For oil painting, we recommended that at least three layers of gesso are applied. GOLDEN Gesso can be mixed with acrylic colors to produce a range of colored grounds. Proper preparation with GOLDEN Gesso primer increases the lifespan of your art, so it definitely worth investing in a tub or three.
