Nitram Liquid Charcoal 50ml Tube
Liquid Charcoal is a new product that bridges the gap between drawing and painting.
Charcoal has traditionally been used as a tool for drawing on paper for hundreds of years. Hugely popular in life drawing classes, it also has its uses when making quick sketches in preparation for a painting. Now, Liquid Charcoal allows you to add water and create sweeping tonal washes on your sketches.
Because Fusains Nitram Liquid Charcoal is water soluble, you can adjust the values from very light to a deep, rich black. Used directly from the tube, it is as thick as oil paint so you could even use a palette knife.
It dries very fast so there shouldn’t be too long to wait before using traditional charcoal over it.
• New product
• Water soluble

Liquid Charcoal Video
Nitram has been making high quality charcoal since 1965. Its founder, Martin Gros had been making charcoal for another company before he set up his own factory and named it after himself (Nitram is Martin spelt backwards). His son Daniel took over the manufacturing in 1981 and since then, the company has passed into the hands of Jerzy Niedojadlo who, as an artist has shown a great passion for the medium and for sharing it with fellow artists worldwide.
