The MABEF M27 is a variant of the lightweight wooden sketching easel. Manufactured from seasoned oiled Beech wood, the M/27 also has two additional support prongs. The purpose of these is to enable a palette or board to be placed at the front, for ease of access whilst working. This is especially useful when using oil or acrylic paint. When fully erected, the easel will support a canvas or lightweight drawing board to a maximum size of 115cm, a little larger than A1. The canvas supports are easily adjustable enabling any size of canvas to be accommodated securely.
As with all MABEF products, the M27 has an application of linseed oil will help keep the easel in good working order. The full adjustable legs make getting the easel level for working outside easy. The additional canvas support at the bottom of the central support bar is also intended to act as a hook for holding equipment satchels or bucket- thus increasing the overall stability of the easel. When folded up the easel is compact and easy to transport. It would be ideal for anyone attending evening classes, or who would only be working where space might be an issue. When not in use, the easel when folded is very compact – making for easy storage.
“Brilliant shop! Wonderful, prompt and attentive service and an excellent array of products (particularly given the size of the space). I usually order online and collect in store (another excellent service) to save the risk of parking my bike outside but always enjoy a wander when I’m in town. Highly recommended!”

“I ordered 3 pads of watercolour paper and when it arrived I was amazed at the way it was packed. Bubble wrap, cardboard wrap then brown paper. As a result the paper arrived in perfect condition. Well done.”

“So nice to have a shop not in a mall or a big impersonal space with knowledgeable helpful staff-full of all the art/craft supplies one could possibly want.”
– Halima
“I’ve only found this wonderful shop recently. I have been coming into this shop regularly since as I’m doing a few craft projects at the moment. The staff are absolutely lovely and have helped me anytime I needed assistance — even with recommendations!”

“The staff were very helpful and patient and helped me get everything I needed to start traditional inking/inkwash art, which is not that common (but they had the supplies regardless). Coming from a digital background, I had very little idea about what I needed but they were very patient and kind in helping me pick out each piece of equipment.”
