This Liquid White Base Coat from Bob Ross is one of three base coats essential for the wet-on-wet technique made so popular by Bob Ross on his Joy of Painting show. These base coats of liquid white, black or clear help to actually blend and mix the paints right onto the canvas instead of arduously working it yourself on the palette which will take much longer. This liquid white, black and clear is also helpful as a way to thin your colours when applying them over thicker paints. A thin paint sticking to a thick paint is the core idea behind the entire wet-on-wet technique made so famous by Bob Ros
